This very special Mother’s Day edition we will feature a Clapper super mom: Theresa Holbert.
Before this upcoming Mother’s day we wanted to shine a light on creators that not only are bringing incredible content, but that they are also incredible moms as well. Theresa manages Dream Catcher Fitness on Clapper App, where she focuses on fitness and mental health. She also is a very engaged content creator who’s main focus is to connect with women and moms and empower them to be the best version of themselves.

Q1: What does a normal day look like?
I’m a 41-year-old mama, married, four kids ages 19, 14, 4 and 1. Two girls and two boys. A normal day when we wake up, I get my four-year-old to school. I do my live workout on my channel and that’s always so much fun, I always look forward to those. I’m getting to know a lot of people now and that makes me really excited. After that, I do content, then I work on my client programming. I am a woman’s coach. Then, we do dinner and baths and all that good stuff. And then I just go on repeat Monday through Friday. I just got diagnosed with ADHD, I am very open about that, so I really have to have my routine regimented or I get overwhelmed.
Q2: How did you become a fitness guru? Tell us your story.
So, seven years ago I had just gotten out of an abusive relationship and I had gain 65 punds for six months from being on medication, because I was very depressed and upset. One day I looked in the mirror and said to myself: “who are you? I don’t even recognize you anymore.” And I took my life back that day. I got off my meds and started working out in my living room. I lost the first 35 pounds dancing in my living room to beach body and then I ended up going to the gym.
I was mortified, I was so scared. It’s very scary when you go to the gym if you are not comfortable with who you are as a human being. That started the passion for fitness. In 2017, I decided I wanted to make this my career. I got fired from my job and then I decided to get certified.
Q3: When did you start your journey on Clapper?
By October of last year, I launched everything: my website, my business, my tiktok, and then I started on Clapper towards december. At the beginning it was super political, and I was like “you know what they really need? Some fitness in here and some positivity.” I focused on positivity and helping women who are starting on fitness. My passion is to help people who are at the beginning stage and are very afraid and don’t know where to start. The biggest guy in the gym, he started somewhere.
Q4: What defines you as a creator?
My biggest goal and purpose is to help women understand that they are more than that damn number on the scale. I try to coach differently, I try to focus on the number sizes down, how you feel about yourself, etc. The internal work is so important, because then nobody that you get will ever be good enough. You don’t need to starve yourself! My favorite thing is when a client stops focusing on the number and sees the inches being lost and they start to gain confidence and they feel amazing. That’s what I thrive for.
Q5: You do a lot of content surrounding the topic of mental health. Where do you draw the inspiration to do that?
I’ve had my battles. I was in my abusive relationship and I was depressed, extremely anxious. I was a mess, I was codependent, I had never been by myself, so when I broke free from that relationship, I needed to heal. So, I am a huge mental health advocate. After my fourth son was born I got postpartum anxiety and by the 9th month postpartum I reached out for help. I am taking medication now and I am very open about that. That is why I am completely transparent, because if I can help one woman, one mom understands that it is okay to ask for help. It doesn’t make you less of a woman or less of a mom to talk about it.
Q6: What do you like most about clapper?
The thing that I love most about it is that you can talk stealthy mode and talk from the heart and it’s received so well. I honestly feel that people accept me as who I am in this app and I feel like I formed a family. There is such an opportunity to reach people that I could never talk to on the other apps. I am really able to get my message out there and that is my favorite thing about Clapper.
Q7: In what way do you feel like it needs improvement?
I just notice bullying going around, but I also learn that if you don’t engage in it you’re fine. But I noticed that other people are wanting others to take sides and I don’t like the drama aspect of it.
I would also love more music and making the font a little smaller. Little stuff like that, but I love the app so much. It doesn’t have the extra bells and whistles but I also don’t need that to talk from the heart.
Q8: What advice would you give new users that want to be successful in the Clapper app?
My biggest advice is to put out what you want to get back. If you are upset that your views are low or that people are not talking to you or clapping you back, you have to do that stuff first. You have to engage and build relationships. Some of the largest creators have some really great ideas as far as the love drop list; I am part of that. You need to get yourself and your brand out there and meet people. You get out, what you put in.
Q9: What are your goals and aspirations for Dream Catcher Fitness in the future?
My goal is to reach as many women as I can to help them look at themselves differently, to make them understand that they are more than the number of that scale. I want people to have a different relationship with food, the scale, their bodies and their minds.
